Best movies and shows streaming in February 2026: 'Dark Winds', 'The Muppet Show' and more

The New York Times highlights notable movies and television shows coming to streaming services in February 2026, with selections across Amazon Prime Video, AMC+, Apple TV, Disney+, HBO Max, Hulu and Peacock and release dates running from Feb. 1 through Feb. 27. On Amazon Prime Video, the docuseries Soul Power: The Legend of the American Basketball Association arrives Feb.

12 and looks back at the A.B.A.’s nine-year run and its innovations, featuring insights from league veterans. Prime also adds Paul McCartney: Man on the Run on Feb. 27, a Morgan Neville documentary covering McCartney’s comeback years with interviews and archival footage, including material shot by Linda McCartney.

AMC+ premieres Dark Winds Season 4 on Feb. 15, following Lt. Joe Leaphorn, Jim Chee and Bernadette Manuelito as personal crossroads affect a case involving a missing teenager, an icy drug lord (Titus Welliver) and a relentless assassin (Franka Potente); the series is adapted from Tony Hillerman’s novels.

Apple TV+ releases Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season 2 on Feb. 27, continuing its flashback structure and returning much of the Season 1 cast, including Kurt and Wyatt Russell portraying the same character at different ages. Disney+ brings a revival one-off of The Muppet Show on Feb.
