Best soup makers in the UK for healthy, thrifty meals – tested
When you want nourishing, thrifty homemade soup, a soup maker can cut the faff: sautéing, standing and blending are handled at the press of a button, and most programmes run in under half an hour. Some models start at £30, making them an affordable way to boost vegetable intake.
I tested a range of machines for 2026 using two Guardian recipes — Rukmini Iyer’s carrot soup and Thomasina Miers’ potato, leek and wild mushroom soup — and assessed ease of use, programme times, final soup temperature, noise, power draw, whether chunky soups cooked vegetables through, and ease of cleaning.
