Best Switch 2 games (updated February 2026)
Nintendo’s Switch 2 is still at the start of its life, but six months in the library is starting to look livelier. The biggest releases remain few — Mario Kart, Donkey Kong, and Pokémon — yet Nintendo has pushed out a broad range of intriguing B-tier titles, from Kirby Air Riders to Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment and Mario Tennis Fever.
There’s also a notable return from the back catalog in the form of the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and nearly the entire Switch library is playable under backward compatibility. Our latest update to this list, on Feb. 16, added Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined, Mario Tennis Fever, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons has received a weighty update and an official Switch 2 Edition. Additions include a new hotel and slumber islands, bulk crafting, playable classic game consoles, Zelda and Lego collaborations, and other quality-of-life improvements.
