Beyerdynamic MMX 150 Wireless review: great sound but limited features — Pcgamer

The Beyerdynamic MMX 150 Wireless aims to deliver the brand’s signature sound in a more affordable package. Priced at $230/€179, it uses 40 mm drivers and offers 2.4 GHz wireless via an included dongle, Bluetooth 5.3 or 3.5 mm wired connection, with a quoted 50-hour battery life.

Sonically it leans toward a sweet, hi-fi-like tuning: warm, controlled bass, a weighty mid-range and sparkling treble that produces an airy, wide soundstage and strong separation. Comfort is a clear strength. Huge velour earpads, a padded memory-foam headband and a firm but gentle clamp make for prolonged, pleasant wear and very effective passive noise isolation.

That said, some chassis details feel basic: controls come across as cheap, and a large LED ring around the volume wheel flashes green in a distracting way. Features are pared back. There’s no active noise cancellation and no Windows software for tweaking audio or noise reduction.
