Bijou Phillips has no prospective kidney donors
Bijou Phillips has yet to find any donors as she battles kidney disease. Friends and relatives have gone through the process to see if they’re a match, but none were successful; there are no prospective donors right now, though Phillips and her loved ones are optimistic about finding a match in the next couple of months.
She is at CORE Kidney at UCLA Health and is receiving dialysis while waiting for a donor. Phillips is awake and aware of what is going on, but her condition remains described as dire. A friend donated a kidney in 2017 that gave her eight more precious years with her daughter Fianna, but that organ has now failed.
Phillips took to social media pleading for help, writing that time is of the essence and that she needs a kidney. She called the 2017 transplant an "incredible gift" and said she has had many complications since, including the BK virus, which led to both a cellular and antibody rejection.
