Bill Hader to Direct and Star in Horror Thriller 'They Know'

Bill Hader will write, direct and star in a horror film titled They Know, marking his feature directorial debut after helming episodes of his HBO series Barry. The movie is being financed by MRC and is eyeing a spring production start, with a likely release sometime in 2027.

They Know centers on a paranoid father—Hader—who grows suspicious of his ex-wife's new love interest, believing the man has an uncanny influence over his children. The film is said to be based on an original story by Hader and Duffy Boudreau, with whom he collaborated on Barry.

Hader has directed episodes of Barry and won several Directors Guild of America awards for that work. He is also an Emmy winner, and his behind-the-camera work on Barry received a directing nomination.
