Crypto treasury firm BitMine Immersion Technologies staked an additional 86,400 Ether (ETH) on Saturday, a move that pushed its total staked holdings past the 1 million ETH mark. Arkham Intelligence reported the 86,400 ETH was staked in four transactions, and onchain analysis platform Lookonchain said BitMine’s total now stands at 1,080,512 staked ETH.

The newly staked ETH was valued at about $268.7 million at the time of publication. Staking involves pledging or locking up crypto tokens by validators or third-party staking providers to secure proof-of-stake blockchains, producing yield paid in the network’s native token. Market analyst Nic Puckrin said, “BitMine has now staked about $3.3 billion worth of ETH.

At the current 2.81% yield, that generates roughly $94.4 million per year in ETH.” He added that “obviously, Bitcoin doesn’t produce cash flow,” and asked, “If another crypto winter hits and debt comes due, does holding a stakeable asset change who weathers it better?” The milestone comes after a turbulent year for crypto treasury companies, with some shedding over 90% of their value from all-time highs.

BitMine’s share price collapsed after its July 2025 peak; the stock is down more than 80% from an all-time high of $161 per share and was trading at $30.06 per share at the time of publication. In early January 2026 BitMine chairman Tom Lee urged shareholders to vote to increase the company’s authorized share limit from 50 million to 50 billion shares, a 1,000x rise.
