Black Ops 7 Season 2's new weapons shred the meta with rapid-fire TTK

Black Ops 7 Season 2 brings new maps and modes alongside returning favourites like Safeguard and Slums, but the real headlines are the new weapons. The REV-46 SMG and EGRT-17 assault rifle are currently dominating lobbies, and with balance changes delayed to monitor live performance, they look set to shape the meta for the foreseeable future.

The EGRT-17 echoes last season’s problem weapon by pairing close-range shredding with near-zero recoil at range. It boasts the second-highest fire rate in its class and can become extremely controllable with the right attachments; a slower-than-average reload can be mitigated through gear.

Its prestige attachment adds three ricochets and greatly improves damage range and bullet velocity, further boosting its potency. The REV-46 is the fastest-firing SMG in the game and introduces a folding-stock mechanic that dramatically alters its stats. Fold the stock for exceptional handling, faster ADS and sprint-to-fire speeds; extend it for reduced recoil and a tighter hipfire reticle.
