Black Ops 7 Season 2 adds nine maps, revives Titanfall's Smart Pistol
Polygon reports Treyarch is rolling out a major update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 with Season 2 and a mid-season “Season 2 Reloaded,” bringing a large slate of new content across multiplayer, Endgame, Zombies and Warzone. The multiplayer side will gain nine maps across the launch and mid-season update: Torment (new, launch), Sake (new, launch), Nexus (new, launch), Slums (remaster, launch), Torque (new, mid-season), Mission: Peak (new, mid-season), Cliff Town (remake of Yemen, mid-season), Grind (remaster, mid-season) and Firing Range (remaster, mid-season).
Beyond maps, Season 2 will add seven new modes and playlists, seven new weapons, a range of attachments, new events with cosmetic rewards and ranked play. Polygon also highlights new Endgame content including Guild Strikes — higher-difficulty zones with a new Strike Boss and better rewards — and the Eagle Eye skill track focused on increased critical damage.
One notable weapon addition is the Lockshot scorestreak, a Smart Pistol-style tool that requires 450 score to unlock. The description reads: "A sleek smart pistol with three rounds that can lock onto multiple targets. A single trigger pull eliminates every locked target in quick succession." Combined with overclock abilities that let you lock onto an additional enemy or reduce lock time, Polygon says Lockshot could be especially powerful.
