Blades of the Guardians' Rotten Tomatoes Score Revealed
One of the most highly anticipated martial arts epics in years has now been unleashed, and reviews have produced an impressive 90% score on Rotten Tomatoes, with some declaring it “an epic martial arts masterpiece.” Blades of the Guardians reunites action stars across generations: Jet Li returns in one of his first full-scale martial arts performances in years, joined by Wu Jing, Nicholas Tse, Max Zhang, Tony Leung Ka-fai and Kara Wai in a wuxia, comic book-inspired epic directed by Yuen Woo-ping.
Critics have praised Yuen Woo-ping's choreography—“The most striking part of the choreography here ... is the dynamism and variety of the action”—and hailed the film’s performances. Reviews range from “A wildly entertaining wuxia spectacle that imbues its characters - heroes and villain alike - with humour, depth and chemistry” to a perfect “A triumph of wuxia cinema, Blades of the Guardians is gorgeous filmmaking on an epic scale that makes the heart soar.” The 126-minute film is out now in theaters courtesy of Well Go USA.
