Blake Lively’s Feb 2023 voice memo to Justin Baldoni unsealed in legal battle
Page Six reports a private voice memo Blake Lively sent to Justin Baldoni in February 2023 has been unsealed in their ongoing legal battle; the court exhibit obtained by People opens with Lively saying, “I hope you’re so well. I just wanted to connect to put something on your radar.” In the recording, Lively asked Baldoni for his “temperature” on potential changes to the It Ends With Us production schedule and said she was speaking “as a friend more than anything.” She told him husband Ryan Reynolds had “encouraged” her to share the request and admitted hesitancy about raising the issue.
Lively discussed feeling “stressed” about shooting It Ends With Us and Proxy back to back after welcoming son Olin, noting difficulties finding a baby nurse and saying, “It’s just a lot.” She added she wasn’t “trying to move anything,” but if Baldoni could start two weeks earlier that would be “amazing,” and asked him to keep the request “between” them.
The article notes Lively filmed Proxy from March to May 2023 and It Ends With Us from May to June 2023, with the writers’ strike later pushing the rest of filming to January 2024. By the film’s August 2024 premiere the co-stars did not promote the movie together, and four months later Lively sued Baldoni for sexual harassment — a claim he has denied; Baldoni’s countersuit in January 2025 was later dismissed.
Unsealed texts and emails to other A-listers have also surfaced in the dispute.
