Blizzard says Overwatch rebrand isn't an admission of failure
Blizzard has dropped the "2" from Overwatch, reverting Overwatch 2 back to Overwatch, but says the change is not an admission that the sequel attempt failed.
The rebrand ushers in a "new story-driven era" and begins with a year-long narrative called The Reign of Talon, made up of six seasons scheduled to release over the course of the year. Season 1, arriving February 10, will add five new heroes, with another five to follow during the year.
The relaunch will also feature weekly digests, tales from the communities you love, and more.
