Blood Covenant trailer debuts — Maika Monroe, Joe Keery star in gory anthology
A trailer for Blood Covenant has arrived online, revealing a gory horror anthology starring Maika Monroe (Longlegs) and Joe Keery (Stranger Things).
The film is described as an anarchy-fueled anthology that follows a writer who is out of ideas and up to his neck in debt. Desperate to get his groove back, the struggling creator makes a deal with a demonic force to churn out stories that will put him back on top.
That bargain comes at a cost: with each disturbing tale the creator must give up a pound of flesh until only a horrifying husk remains, the trailer suggests.
Director Mariano Cattaneo handles the worn-down writer’s story, while Kate Trefry, Spencer Keller, Bret Miller, Jaiver Yañez, and Hasan Can Dağli helm the individual tales of terror. Besides Monroe and Keery, Agustín Olcese, María Eugenia Rigón, and Aria Bedmar are also listed in the cast.
The trailer is gory and messy and teases a creature that the footage makes look like a cross between Jason Voorhees and a really scary SpongeBob.
There is currently no release date for Blood Covenant and the film has yet to find a buyer, so when and how it will reach audiences remains unclear.
