Bloodborne, FromSoftware's 2015 PlayStation 4 hit, has long been one of the most requested remakes. Adjacent to the Dark Souls series, it emphasized offensive playstyles, letting players dual-wield weapons while largely forgoing shields. In our review, we called it "some of the best work FromSoftware's ever done." Fans point to several clear upgrades a remake or remaster could deliver: the locked 30fps performance, native 4K support, faster loading times and other quality-of-life and visual improvements.

Modder Lance McDonald released a third-party 60 fps mod for Bloodborne on modded PS4s, showing it can be done, and emulation tools like ShadPS4 have given some players a glimpse of the modern visuals a remake would offer. Sony is closing Bluepoint Games, the studio behind the PS5 Demon's Souls remake, Shadow of the Colossus and the Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, and roughly 70 Bluepoint employees will lose their jobs.
