Bobbie ends romance after Emmett admits he knew about her half-sister

In the January 30 episode of Happy's Place, Reba McEntire's Bobbie and Emmett (Rex Linn) parted ways after Emmett confessed he had known about Bobbie's half-sister, Isabella, for years. The budding romance had been a major focus of Season 2, with the pair navigating a will-they-won't-they chemistry.

Emmett had held back at first because he was carrying a secret tied to Bobbie's late father, Happy, and revealed he learned about Isabella long before her Season 1 reunion. Rumors of the secret began when Steve grew anxious and Gabby recruited Isabella to help find out what he and Takoda were hiding.

After Steve lied and claimed Takoda was in love with them, Takoda ultimately admitted that Emmett had known about Isabella and kept it from Bobbie. As Bobbie and Emmett wrapped up their three-month anniversary dinner, Isabella burst in and the truth came out. Emmett said Happy had confessed to cheating and having a child and made him promise not to tell.

"He made me promise to never tell a soul," Emmett told her. "He was my best friend, Bobbie." Bobbie said tearfully, "You know, I think I'm going to have to sit on this for a while." The next day at the tavern she told Emmett, "You made a promise, and I respect you for keeping it.
