Botany Manor free on Epic Games Store until February 12

Botany Manor is a cozy first-person puzzle game that puts players in the role of botanist Arabella Greene, who, despite an apparent retirement, explores a late-19th-century Victorian manor to complete her botanical research book.

The game carries a faint Witness vibe and a touch of Blue Prince, but it avoids the brutal difficulty of those titles. Lead developer Laure De May said in 2024 the team aimed for a peaceful setting and puzzles that are neither too challenging nor too simple; the challenge, she explained, comes from how many clues and steps there are, how much there is to keep in mind, and how far things are spread out.

Steam reviews generally reflect that balance: many players call it a great fit for cozy or casual gamers, while warning it isn't for those seeking something on the level of The Witness, Blue Prince, or Myst. This is the first time Botany Manor has been offered free on the Epic Games Store; Botany Manor, along with the Poison Retro Set for Pixel Gun 3D, is free until February 12.
