Brand New Day synopsis gives weight to long-running Spider-Man leaks
An official synopsis included in the film’s art book, posted on Penguin Random House, fills in key story beats for Spider-Man: Brand New Day. It says four years have passed since the events of No Way Home, that Peter Parker no longer exists publicly while Spider-Man keeps New York safe, and that an unusual trail of crimes drags the hero into a larger mystery.
The description adds that Spider-Man will need to be at the top of his physical and mental game and face the repercussions of his past; the art book is set to arrive Aug. 4, a few weeks after the film’s July 31 premiere. The synopsis also makes clear Doctor Strange’s spell to erase Peter’s identity remains in effect, which would skip over much of Parker’s college years after No Way Home’s final scene teased him studying for a GED.
Casting confirmations in recent weeks name Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner/Hulk and Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle/Punisher among those who will appear.
