Breana Teubner and Peter McGuiness marry in Healdsburg

Breana Michelle Teubner and Peter Neill McGuiness were married on Jan. 17 on the back lawn of the Madrona, a 19th‑century hillside mansion in Healdsburg, Calif.; the couple had first matched on Bumble in June 2024. They met in San Francisco after Mr. McGuiness suggested Original Joe’s in the North Beach neighborhood, where they talked by the restaurant’s fireplace.

On that first date Ms. Teubner asked him to name a favorite autobiography; when he answered “The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin,” she said it impressed her. Their second date was at Hazie’s, and by their third date — dinner and the movie “Barbie” — Mr. McGuiness said he knew she was the one.

The relationship involved logistical and personality adjustments: he lived in Alameda and she in San Francisco, a roughly 25‑minute drive apart, and she described herself as extroverted while he is more introverted. They decided to buy a home together in Pacific Heights, and on July 12, exactly a year after their first date, he proposed on the floor of the future bedroom with his grandmother’s ring; she said yes.

Ms. Teubner, 45, is chief operating officer of TYB, a community rewards platform based in San Francisco; she was born in Denver, raised in San Juan Capistrano, Calif., earned a bachelor’s degree in American literature from UCLA and an M.B.A. from USC, has served on the board of Watch Duty, invested in venture capital funds and once hiked Mount Kilimanjaro.
