According to People, Calista Presti of Brooksville, Fla., says her custom Kay Jewelers wedding ring began losing diamonds weeks after her late-September wedding.

Presti said her husband helped customize the ring with her sisters, but she had to send it back to be resized soon after the ceremony. When it returned, a diamond fell out within about two weeks; an inspection at Kay Jewelers reportedly found loose clasps and staff told her not to wear the ring to bed, in the shower or to work. She says another diamond later fell out, and her TikTok about the experience has drawn more than 740,000 views and over 2,000 comments as people weighed in.

Kay Jewelers responded in the TikTok comments asking Presti to direct message her contact details so the brand could connect with its team. Presti returned to the jeweler, which offered a different band or added prongs; she chose extra prongs and left her original ring with the store. She says she’s barely worn the rings and urged others to research before buying expensive pieces, and she plans to replace or take the ring to a local jeweler if problems continue.
