Bug Hall, 'Little Rascals' star, moves family to Arkansas, vows poverty and off‑grid life
Former child actor Bug Hall has left Hollywood and moved with his wife and five daughters to a small area near Mountain Home, Ark., saying he has taken “a vow of poverty” and now identifies as “a radical Catholic extremist,” Page Six reports. Hall told the outlet he gave up the money he made as a child actor, donated his savings and most material items, and is living in a campervan with a water well and a generator while trying to “maintain a life as free of any need for an income as possible.” He said he would take odd jobs for cash only if a financial need arises.
He is reportedly planning to go fully off‑the‑grid, aiming to build his family a house with its own hydro‑electrical dam and independent plumbing and electrical systems. Hall and his wife, Jill, whom he married in 2017, homeschool their five daughters and said they will “strongly discourage” them from attending what he called a mostly “nonsense” formal school or going to college.
Page Six says Hall’s move followed a 2020 arrest for allegedly huffing air duster cans; he was taken into Weatherford police custody in Texas for misdemeanor possession but did not face charges. Hall told the outlet the public arrest was a wakeup call and that he had been sober for 15 years prior to the incident.
He rose to fame as Alfalfa in the 1994 film The Little Rascals and later appeared in Disney’s 2002 Get A Clue.
