Bukayo Saka signs new Arsenal contract and becomes club's highest-paid player
Bukayo Saka has signed a new long-term contract with Arsenal that will run until 2031, making the 24-year-old the club's highest-paid player. His five-year extension will see him earn a wage in excess of £300,000 a week; his previous deal had been due to expire in 2027.
The formal signing ends talks between the player's camp and club officials that had been ongoing for nearly a year. Saka joins team-mates William Saliba, Gabriel, Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly in committing their futures to the club over the last 12 months.
Saka has scored seven goals in 33 appearances across all competitions this term and remains a crucial part of Mikel Arteta's core as Arsenal have become a dominant force across Europe. He was used as a No.10 alongside Eberechi Eze in the FA Cup win over Wigan and was effective in a more central role, prompting calls for him to occupy that position for the remainder of the season.
