Bungie's Marathon gets a firm March release date and new gameplay trailer
Polygon reports Bungie's upcoming extraction shooter Marathon has a new gameplay trailer and a firm release date: Thursday, 5 March. Pre-orders are available now for PS5, Xbox Series X, and Steam.
The trailer shows some of the weapons found on Tau Ceti IV, the lost colony runners will scavenge, and encounters with hostile security forces and other runners. It also highlights gadgets such as a grappling hook that can seemingly latch onto nothing and an enormous shield suited for tight spaces. Bungie revealed the English voice cast, including Roger Clark, Samantha Béart, Ben Starr, and Elias Toufexis.
Marathon was originally scheduled for September 2025 but was delayed indefinitely after an underwhelming response to alpha playtests; Bungie later settled on a March 2026 release window, now confirmed by the March 5 date. A Collector's Edition—exclusive to the Bungie store—will include a 1/6th scale Thief Runner shell statue with LED lights, a collectible WEAVEworm miniature, six art postcards, premium hexagon packaging and more, and is priced at $230. A December 2025 article provides further details about the game.
