Burglin' Gnomes is the next great friend-slop co-op game — Pcgamer

I'm holding on to this toilet plunger for dear life. All my friends are dead, cooked to death in an oven or frozen in a fridge, and if I make it back to our gnome-mushroom I get to live another day. This is Burglin' Gnomes, a friend-slop game whose demo has made a huge splash: up to three players break into the house of an angry old man, whose layout shifts, to steal his stuff and wreak havoc.

Each round hands you a list of random tasks — steal a personal hygiene item, take something from the living room, tase a human, shoot a human, or just break stuff. You do not have to finish every task, but you must complete a minimum before you can head to the small mushroom house in the clouds to extract and live to pester another day.

Failing has real consequences. If you miss the extraction you get exploded by some angry formless god, lose all your resources and crafted items, and return to round one. I didn’t make it to the safe mushroom with my plunger; I ran out of time and was swept away by a tornado just steps from the door.
