Catherine O'Hara, the actor known for roles in Schitt’s Creek, the Home Alone films and the second season of The Last of Us, has died at the age of 71, TMZ reports. The outlet says she died earlier on January 30; the cause of death has not been confirmed.

The report noted O'Hara had kept busy in recent years, including appearing in the second season of The Last of Us as Gail, an original character for the live-action series.

Pedro Pascal, a co-star on The Last of Us, was among the first to publicly pay tribute, sharing a photo and calling the comic star a “genius” he was grateful to be near. Fans quickly flooded the internet with tributes, condolences and jokes, including mistaken references to the wrong Home Alone 2 star.

O'Hara's career spanned decades, from early work on the Canadian sketch show SCTV to voice roles such as Sally in The Nightmare Before Christmas and her Emmy-winning turn as Moira Rose on Schitt’s Creek. Commenters also pointed to memorable moments in films like Beetlejuice and the Home Alone series.

She is survived by her husband, director Bo Welch, and two children. The cause of death and further details have not been reported.
