Celtic complete multiple summer and January transfers as squad reshaped
Goal reports Celtic have completed a series of summer 2025 and January 2026 transfers as the club reshaped its squad after reclaiming the Scottish Premiership title amid managerial uncertainty.
Summer arrivals included Kieran Tierney on a free from Arsenal, Benjamin Nygren from Nordsjælland for around £2m, Ross Doohan on a free from Aberdeen, Shin Yamada from Kawasaki Frontale for £1.5m, Sebastian Tounekti for £5.2m from Hammarby and Kelechi Iheanacho on a free from Sevilla, alongside youth additions such as Callum Osmand and Isaac English and a season-long loan of Jahmai Simpson-Pusey from Manchester City. Notable departures listed for the summer were Nicolas Kühn to Como for about £17m, Gustaf Lagerbielke to Braga for £2m, Scott Bain to Falkirk (free), Greg Taylor to PAOK (free) and moves including Daniel Cummings to West Ham and Adam Idah to Swansea City, plus several loans and undisclosed fees.
In January 2026 the club added Julian Araujo on loan from Bournemouth, while Hayato Inamura left on loan to FC Tokyo and Daizen Maeda has been linked with a permanent move with Bundesliga interest. Interim manager Martin O'Neill, back in a temporary role, joked the club need "about 56 players" and described the window as difficult; the transfer list will be updated as further moves are completed.
