The Kansas City Chiefs said they are aware of domestic violence allegations that wide receiver Rashee Rice’s ex-girlfriend posted on Instagram, People reports.

The team said it was aware of the allegations on social media, was in communication with the National Football League, and had no further comment. Docada Nichole posted images she said showed bruises and damage to a home on Wednesday and did not name her alleged abuser. Rice has not publicly commented and has not been charged in connection with Nichole’s allegations.

Rice was drafted by the Chiefs in 2023 and missed the first six games of the 2025 season after the NFL suspended him for his involvement in a 2024 hit-and-run street racing crash in Dallas that reportedly involved six vehicles and left several people injured. In July 2025 he pleaded guilty to two felony charges and was sentenced to 30 days in jail and five years' probation, according to ESPN.

The club said it is communicating with the NFL and declined further comment; beyond Nichole’s Instagram post and the team’s statement, no additional details have been released.
