Chris Hemsworth Teases Unique Plans for Thor After Avengers: Doomsday

Chris Hemsworth is set to play an important role as Thor in Avengers: Doomsday, the latest MCU installment that has remained dormant since Endgame. As one of the few characters to receive his own teaser, fans have speculated the thunder god could be nearing the end of his run.

Hemsworth suggests Doomsday may instead mark the start of a new era for the character. Speaking on the SmartLess podcast, he said he has a 'couple more' appearances planned and that he and Marvel have 'unique' ideas to bring Thor back. He also mentioned talking with Kevin Feige and noted that audiences now expect dramatic turns.

He is expected to reprise the role in Secret Wars, which is slated to begin production this year, and his remarks hinted at the possibility of another solo project. Hemsworth credited much of the role's variety to working with different directors — from Taika Waititi to Kenneth Branagh to the Russos — each bringing distinct tonal approaches.
