People reports that Chris Redd said in a Jan. 6 Instagram video that he had "some pill problems" while a castmember on Saturday Night Live from 2017 until his exit in 2022, and that he was "selling [pills] some to people, to some of my castmates."

Redd, 40, posted the video to promote his upcoming New York City comedy show Caveat and said he wants to practice "leading with more vulnerability and openness" in 2026. He described feeling isolated on the show, saying castmates would talk about him and not help when he had panic attacks, and credited Christina Evangeline — Kenan Thompson's ex-wife — with calling him on his behavior and helping with his therapy journey; he said they "fell in love."

He said he would not name colleagues and indicated he was ready to move forward. Redd closed by promoting Caveat, which premieres Jan. 28, and said "the whole show is not gonna be about this" and that it will be about love.
