Christy Carlson Romano shaded her former Even Stevens co-star Shia LaBeouf after his arrest in New Orleans. She posted a new Instagram clip in which she lip-synched the line 'I'm not involved. You made that very clear,' and captioned it, 'I've got bigger 🐟 to fry.' The two played siblings on the Disney Channel series.

In a 2021 YouTube video Romano admitted she had been 'salty' over LaBeouf's post-Even Stevens success and said she had 'stopped inserting' herself in his business. She described them as more like co-workers than close friends and spoke of a 'missed opportunity to bond' as their paths diverged.

LaBeouf, 39, was arrested after a brawl during Mardi Gras and charged with two counts of simple battery; he spent time in Orleans Parish Prison. A local bartender said he was 'terrorizing the city,' and a doorman described him as 'somewhat belligerent' when he approached a bar without a shirt or cash.
