Clavicular, the online name of Braden Peters, is a 20-year-old streamer who measures his appeal in numbers: 6-foot-2, 180 pounds, a 31-inch waist, a 19.5-inch biacromial width and facial ratios he says prove handsomeness. He idolizes the actor Matt Bomer and is pursuing a bimaxillary osteotomy, or double jaw surgery, as part of a relentless project to alter his appearance.

He is a leading figure in the Looksmaxxing community, which prizes a narrow ideal—lantern-jawed, symmetrical, white—and treats increasing beauty as a moral aim. Clavicular has injected and ingested dozens of controlled substances since he was 14 in pursuit of what the group calls “ascending.” His extreme methods, slang and a habit of “mogging” other men have turned clips of his IRL streams into viral content; he streams most days for upward of eight hours and makes more than $100,000 a month from Kick.

On the road to virality, his life has become performative.
