Coinbase launches prediction markets in all 50 US states with Kalshi
Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase said it has launched prediction markets across all 50 US states in partnership with Kalshi, announcing the rollout in a Wednesday X post.
Coinbase said it will offer trades on "any real-world outcomes across sports, politics, culture and more." Event contracts on prediction markets platforms such as Kalshi and Polymarket allow users to bet on the outcomes of a variety of topics, with the probability of each event assigned by user participation.
The announcement follows Coinbase's December plans for onchain prediction markets in partnership with Kalshi and the company's December acquisition of The Clearing Company as part of its push into prediction markets.
The launch came about a week ahead of one of the biggest sporting events in the US, the National Football League’s Super Bowl championship game, and arrives more than a month after Coinbase said it planned to move deeper into prediction markets.
This is a developing story, and further information will be added as it becomes available. Cointelegraph said it is committed to independent, transparent journalism and encouraged readers to verify information independently.
