Colleen Hoover warned she might skip ‘It Ends With Us’ premiere over Justin Baldoni
Author Colleen Hoover threatened to pull out of the August 2024 premiere of the film It Ends With Us over Justin Baldoni, according to a newly unsealed email circulating on social media. In the message, Hoover said she felt 'beyond uncomfortable' around Baldoni and asked, 'Am I going to be comfortable if Justin is there?
No.' She added that while comfort was 'not her priority,' she could not 'promise [she'd] go if he and his team [were] all there.' The author is 46. Hoover wrote she went 'back and forth every day between continuing to show up for this movie or going into hiding' because the situation 'is all causing me anxiety and bringing attention that I’m not prepared for/used to.' She said she preferred being neutral but that 'feelings [had] been hurt and boundaries [had] been crossed' so no one could simply 'set it all aside and … smile for the cameras.' She said she would 'choose to support' co-star Blake Lively with 'whatever decision' Lively made about the premiere and added, 'I do hope to see you guys at the premiere, but if that ends up not happening for any reason, please know that I will only ever have positive things to say publicly.' Baldoni’s rep did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
Despite the concerns, Baldoni, Lively and Hoover all attended the following month’s New York City premiere.
