Skye Mackintosh decided to change after seeing a photo of himself by a pool on October 15, 2024; it was the biggest he'd ever been. He had earlier gone a year without added sugar and lost weight, but still struggled to exercise consistently. To build a habit he could keep, he challenged himself to 20 minutes of exercise every day and began posting proof online to stay accountable.

He picked 20 minutes because 30 minutes often felt out of reach and 10 minutes didn't seem enough. Push-ups and jump squats were his starting point so workouts could be done anywhere. After feedback around day 35 he added a back exercise and a core move, then organized his week into three upper-body days, two lower-body and core days, a Wednesday for basketball or stretching and a Sunday rest day.

As he got stronger he increased reps and added light equipment — a kettlebell, a pull-up bar and some free gear he received as his account grew.
