Control Resonant takes place seven years after the first Control, with FBC director Jesse Faden missing and Dylan Faden stepping into a Manhattan whose lockdown has collapsed and been reshaped by paranatural forces.

Remedy describes the game as more of an action-RPG, with Dylan a brawler aided by the Aberrant, a shapeshifting melee weapon that takes on new forms as you progress. Manhattan is presented as a large, open-ended world altered by supernatural forces and embedded in a larger narrative.

Combat is designed around momentum and player agency rather than tight parry mechanics: "there are no parries, there is no back-and-forth with a single enemy," and encounters reward tactical choice, improvisation and combining attacks with abilities.

Progression unlocks new Aberrant forms and synergies between weapons and paranormal powers, enabling wider customization than previous games. Control Resonant is due sometime in 2026 for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X.
