Cooper Flagg goes No. 1 as NBA sets 2026 Castrol Rising Stars rosters
The NBA’s 2026 Castrol Rising Stars rosters are set for All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles: Cooper Flagg of the Dallas Mavericks went No. 1, Kon Knueppel of the Charlotte Hornets No. 2, and VJ Edgecomb of the Philadelphia 76ers No. 3. The mini-tournament is scheduled for Friday, February 13 at 9 p.m.
ET at the Intuit Dome and will stream only on Peacock. Honorary selectors for the three rookie/sophomore squads included 10-time All-Star Carmelo Anthony, who picked Flagg; two-time scoring champion Tracy McGrady, who selected Knueppel; and Vince Carter, who chose Edgecomb. The piece notes Carter’s 22-year career remains a league record.
The event will feature three seven-man NBA rookie/sophomore teams — Team Melo, Team Vince and Team T‑Mac — plus a G League–only squad coached by Austin Rivers. Per the NBA, an assistant coach from one of the All-Star Game coaching staffs will serve as head coach for each Castrol Rising Stars team alongside the honorary selectors.
Team Melo’s roster includes Stephon Castle, Donovan Clingman, Jeremiah Fears, Cooper Flagg, Dylan Harper, Collin Murray and Reed Sheppard. Team Vince features Matas Buzelis, Cedric Coward, Egor Dëmin, VJ Edgecomb, Keyshawn George, Derik Queen and Jaylen Wells. Team T‑Mac lists Tre Johnson, Kon Knueppel, Ajay Mitchell, Alex Sarr, Cam Spencer, Jaylon Tyson and Kel‑el Ware.
