Cori Broadus says infant daughter Codi died 10 months after premature birth
Cori Broadus announced on Instagram Stories Saturday that her infant daughter, Codi, has died. The baby was born prematurely in February 2025 and died about 10 months later.
"Monday, I lost the love of my life. My Codi," Broadus wrote atop a black-and-white Instagram Stories slide that showed her cradling the baby in a hospital. She added an angel wing emoji to the announcement.
Her fiancé, Wayne Deuce, also posted on Instagram Stories, writing, "I been the saddest since u left me Codi Dreaux. But I know u at peace. Daddy will always love you. My baby."
The baby was born three months early — Broadus said the child arrived at about 25 weeks on Feb. 28 — and spent roughly 10 months in the NICU. Broadus, 26, shared on Jan. 6 that she had been allowed to bring the baby home, captioning a post "She’s home. 🤍" She later reposted that update and added, "20 days later? Dawg I’m sick." Broadus also said the birth was by C-section and that she experienced HELLP syndrome after the delivery; she had previously described a lupus diagnosis that made the pregnancy high risk.
Followers left condolences on Broadus’s posts, with comments such as "Condolences to the family" and "She was so adorable."
The family has not provided further details about the baby’s death, and no cause was disclosed in Broadus’s posts.
