Courtney Stodden says she 'almost ran away' on her wedding night to Jared Safier
According to People, Courtney Stodden said she "almost ran away" the night she married Jared Safier; the couple wed in December 2024 and marked their first wedding anniversary in December 2025.
In a Dec. 2 Instagram post accompanied by a black-and-white wedding photo, Stodden shared what she called "the raw unfiltered truth," writing that the pair were "emotional, overwhelmed, and far too drunk" when a misunderstanding escalated into a fight. She said "outside voices added fuel," Safier left, and she "spent our honeymoon night alone in the bridal suite," which revived fears from being married at 16 to actor Doug Hutchison in 2011 and divorcing him in 2020. The argument, she wrote, "shook" her and she "felt like dying," but she chose to stay and work on rebuilding their relationship.
Stodden wrote that they have been "rebuilding safety, rebuilding connection" and are "learning to communicate," learning to "choose each other even when it hurts." In an October 2025 interview she said, “He did save me from trying to un-alive myself,” and she acknowledged that their quick marriage has been challenging as they try to become better partners.
