Collider reports the 2023 animated adventure comedy Craig Before the Creek will leave HBO Max on January 13 as the streamer continues to scale back its Cartoon Network catalog.

The prequel film, which explores the origins of Craig of the Creek, follows Craig (voiced by Philip Solomon) on a journey through the Creek in search of a magical paper fortune teller. The title will still be available on Hulu and Disney+ after its removal from HBO Max, the report said.

The departure is part of HBO Max’s broader shift toward adult programming; the platform has removed several Cartoon Network shows in the past year, including The Amazing World of Gumball, the OG Ben 10, The Powerpuff Girls, and Chowder. Even Craig of the Creek, which ran between 2017 and 2025, has been affected—its first three seasons were removed from the streamer in late 2024.

HBO Max’s January removals also extend beyond animation, with films such as Taxi Driver, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, and The Peanut Butter Falcon, plus Max Originals like 4 Blocks and What Happened, Brittany Murphy? leaving the platform; the streamer is adding new arrivals as well, including The Pitt Season 2 and the premiere of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. Craig Before the Creek will remain available on HBO Max until January 13.
