Crimson Desert won't let you do a full evil playthrough, devs say — Pcgamer

Crimson Desert, the upcoming open-world action-adventure made by the devs of the MMO Black Desert, is not being called an RPG by its developers. Despite systems, gear, and a large map that might suggest otherwise—and an early 2019 description that labeled it an RPG—the team has been clear about expectations.

On the Dropped Frames podcast, director of marketing Will Powers addressed whether players can run an evil playthrough. He said the choices "aren't that grand" but can still have an impact, and when asked if he'd recommend a full evil run he answered, "Would I recommend a full playthrough in that playstyle?

Eh, I don't know." Story-wise the game positions you as "the good guys", so outright cruelty toward NPCs is off the table. There is, however, a crime and wanted system: illegal actions like theft lower trust, attract law enforcement, and can lead to a bounty, fines, or even jail time.
