Crowdfunded Street Fighter 6 energy-drink trading cards arrive in Japan
Kotaku reports that a crowdfunded product in Japan is selling drinkable Street Fighter 6 trading cards: card-shaped, concentrated energy drinks branded as ENERGY ARTS that the article says will let Ryu, Chun-Li, and others “restore your real-life HP” with sweet flavors and “strange chemicals.”
The project, presented as a collaboration between UHA Mikakuto and Kinki University, was crowdfunded and targets competitive esports players. The items function as blind-pack collectibles, so buyers do not know which card they will get until they open the packaging.
The announcement claims the design aims for an “effortless way to replenish energy,” saying users can “simply pick it up, snap it open with one hand, and suck it up,” and that energy charging is completed in just 0.5 seconds to achieve a “transparent” UX. For now, the products are only available in Japan, and the blind-pack format means collectors will need to open packages to complete sets.
