GamesRadar reports the 1TB Crucial P510 Gen5 SSD is currently listed at $139.99 on Amazon, and the outlet urges shoppers with Gen5-capable PCs to consider buying now while stock and pricing hold. The article says SSD prices are rising broadly as AI data‑centre demand soaks up NAND and memory.

GamesRadar cites CamelCamelCamel price history showing the Samsung 990 Pro 4TB rose from just under $350 to $549.99, and notes the WD Black SN8100 2TB climbed from about $240 to $510.60, with its heatsink model moving from $299.99 to $659.99. Crucial’s P510 is a Gen5 drive with quoted sequential read/write speeds of 11,000MB/s and 9,500MB/s, but GamesRadar warns you need a motherboard that supports Gen5 to use it.

The outlet also cautions that while a Gen5 SSD may physically fit in a PS5, the interface won’t work and could risk damage, recommending the 1TB Crucial P310 at $149.99 at Best Buy for PS5 owners. Micron, Crucial’s parent, has decided to exit the consumer RAM and SSD market; GamesRadar notes Micron will continue shipping consumer RAM and storage until the end of February 2026.

The piece says 1TB drives haven’t yet seen the same extreme inflation as larger capacities, but that could change. What remains unclear is how long the P510 will stay at $139.99 or how quickly stock will run out.
