Inter are reportedly in discussions with Liverpool over a loan move for midfielder Curtis Jones, according to reports on Jan 31, 2026. The 25-year-old Liverpool academy product has not been a regular under manager Arne Slot this season.

Jones’ contract at Anfield runs until the summer of 2027, and the proposed move is said to potentially include a buy option. Fabrizio Romano reported talks between the clubs and linked the interest partly to David Frattesi being linked with a switch to Nottingham Forest.

That account has been directly challenged: James Pearce of The Athletic called the story “nonsense” and said Jones is “not going anywhere.” The Times meanwhile reports Liverpool “will not sanction” the departure of any senior players before the winter window shuts on February 2.

Reports in Italy add that Inter proposed a loan with a view to a €40 million transfer, but sources at Inter describe the idea as a “long shot.” For context, Jones made 46 appearances last season as Liverpool won the Premier League; this campaign he has 10 Premier League starts and 10 substitute appearances. Last June he told GQ he was “living the dream.”

Jones is expected to hope for involvement in Liverpool’s upcoming Premier League match at home to Newcastle, and the situation remains unclear ahead of the February 2 transfer deadline given the conflicting reports.
