Nbc reported that actress Cynthia Erivo lent her Elphaba broom to U.S. curlers Cory Thiesse and Korey Dropkin in a featurette posted on YouTube promoting the 2026 Winter Olympics.

In the promo, Thiesse and Dropkin struggle during a faux practice as the granite stones fail to respond to their sweeps. Erivo, wearing an all-black winter coat and holding her character Elphaba's broom, offers it to the pair; with that broom and the song "For Good" playing, the rink finally looks ready to compete.

The piece also explains curling — players slide stones on ice toward a target and use brooms to slow and manipulate them — and notes curling has been a permanent Olympic sport since 1998. Team USA begins mixed doubles play on February 5 against Norway, a day before the 2026 Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony is broadcast on Peacock.
