Dafne Keen confronts cursed Aztec 'Death Whistle' in trailer for Whistle
Movieweb reports that Dafne Keen, best known for Logan and Deadpool & Wolverine, stars in the supernatural horror Whistle and appears in a new trailer where she and friends discover an ancient Aztec Death Whistle that unleashes a deadly curse.
The film, directed by Corin Hardy and written by Owen Egerton, was long delayed before being acquired by IFC and Shudder. Whistle had some screenings at Fantastic Fest in 2025 and is set for a theatrical release in February 2026; the runtime is listed as 85 minutes. The cast also includes Sky Yang, Sophie Nélisse, Michelle Fairley, Jhaleil Swaby, Ali Skovbye, Percy Hynes White and Nick Frost, and the production companies are No Trace Camping and Wild Atlantic Pictures. Hardy said the film was made with a “heart-on-sleeve, disenfranchised-teen-spirit” and was built for the big-screen experience.
The trailer and the film’s official logline indicate the whistle summons the characters’ future deaths to hunt them down, and the friends must investigate the artifact’s origins as the body count rises. Whistle will play in theaters in February 2026 and will compete with other horror releases during that month, including Dracula (the French version directed by Luc Besson) and The Strangers – Chapter 3.
