Dan Trachtenberg Hints at Return to Cloverfield Franchise

Dan Trachtenberg, who broke out with the bunker thriller 10 Cloverfield Lane and later led entries in the Predator series, says he could return to J.J. Abrams' Cloverfield universe. Speaking with ScreenRant, he stressed the IP wasn't the reason for his new overall deal with Paramount but suggested another installment "could" happen.

"It was almost like a, 'Oh my God, wait!' When we were talking about stuff, it came up, and I was like, 'Oh yeah, wait a second. I've done that. I could, maybe.' So maybe, and I certainly kept in touch with the folks at Bad Robot and J.J. [Abrams], and we've certainly discussed different things over the years, not Cloverfield related." Trachtenberg also reiterated that Predator remains a priority.

"Well, Predator, I'm in this zone of dreaming up more, like I said, as I had been previously. And then Paramount is this incredible opportunity to make original things that have been in my heart and mind for a long time.
