Daniel Radcliffe Recalls Michael Gambon's Antics on Harry Potter Set — Movieweb

Daniel Radcliffe reflected on his time making the Harry Potter films during an appearance on Hot Ones, recalling the late Sir Michael Gambon’s on-set behavior. Radcliffe first came into the public eye playing the leading role and worked alongside notable British actors such as Robbie Coltrane, Jim Broadbent, Gary Oldman and Dame Maggie Smith.

Radcliffe said Gambon "f**ked around all the time" and would not stop until the cameras began rolling. He remembered Gambon inventing acronyms like B-O-H-N-A-R and T-T-I-A-B, explaining 'Back of head, no acting required.' and playfully calling one moment 'Two tw*ts in a boat.' Gambon stepped into the role of Dumbledore after Richard Harris in 2004's Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, bringing a new interpretation that added gravitas and power to the headmaster.

Radcliffe noted that, despite that on-screen strength, Gambon could be one of the biggest jokers on set and left an unforgettable mark on the films.
