Dara and Alexia met for a blind date at The Trafalgar in London SW3 and later went to a nearby pub for a couple more drinks.

First impressions were warm: Dara called Alexia "very smiley and easy to talk to" and Alexia said Dara seemed friendly and had a strong name. Conversation ranged from working in schools, the Highway Code and borscht to Frankie the flamingo, trips to South America and death‑row meals. Awkward moments included the maitre d' assuming they were restaurant critics and offering to show an underground function room, and a wine order being misheard and poured as two glasses. Both reported good table manners.

They both gave the evening eight out of 10 and said they would meet again; Dara expected it would be as friends and Alexia agreed. They did not kiss, sharing only a courteous goodbye hug on the tube, and noted that although the register office was next door they still opted for the pub near the station.
