David Baddiel fronts a new three-part Channel 4 series, David Baddiel: Cat Man, airing at 8pm, described as a bid to remedy the lack of cat TV shows.

Described as "surprisingly moving", the series follows Baddiel — proud owner of Zelda, Tiger, Ron and Pip — as he meets fellow cat fans including Jonathan Ross (cat dad to Pads Pikkleson and Maude Ross) and Philippa Perry (cat mum to Kevin).

In the first episode he goes paddleboarding with Bongo the tabby, and the show asks whether Larry, the Downing Street cat, now 18 years old, will let Baddiel pick him up.

The programme is billed as a three-part ode to all things feline; beyond the encounters featured in the opening episode, other segments are not specified in the listing.
