DCU Project 'Paradise Lost' Reportedly Dead — Movieweb

Despite having only just started with the release of Superman, the fate of James Gunn’s DCU remains in flux after the Man of Steel's somewhat disappointing box office and the impending buyout of Warner Bros. by Netflix. Now one of the major DCU projects first announced when Gunn and Peter Safran took over DC Studios in 2022 is reportedly dead.

Announced as part of the DCU’s "Chapter One: Gods and Monsters," Paradise Lost was intended to introduce and explore Themyscira, the home of Wonder Woman. Gunn likened the series to Game of Thrones, and the idea of introducing Themyscira before Wonder Woman herself had long been an open question.

Insider John Rocha says writers who pitched for Paradise Lost were told the project is "dead. Paradise Lost is dead. [It] will not be happening as a TV show. And not dead in the sense of like, well, they’re just going to wait for a script." He added that those who had been told they might run or write the show were informed the project was no longer in active development.
