Kotaku reports Deadpool is coming to the hero shooter Marvel Rivals and will join the roster in season 6, which begins on January 16.

He’s presented as a flex character able to swap between tank, damage, and support roles during a match, and the first gameplay trailer suggests he combines elements of all three. NetEase has built fourth-wall effects into his kit: comic-book-style frames and erratic animations make his moveset harder to read, and players gain role-based buffs by opening a Marvel Rivals comic book that Deadpool flips through to select upgrades.

The kit also reportedly includes fourth-wall abilities, such as one that displays a small streamer-style portrait of Deadpool on an opponent’s screen that hits them with a hammer. The report says it is unclear how to avoid that effect or whether it functions as a timed status effect, and it notes players will likely become more familiar with his tools once they can try him.
